 Product Description

Apollo 1-The first manned mission of the Apollo program, with the goal of a manned lunar landing. The orbital test of the Command Module never made its launch date of February 21, 1967. A cabin fire on January 27 at Cape Kennedy’s Launch Complex 34 killed all three crew members—Command Pilot Virgil I. "Gus" Grissom, Senior Pilot Edward H. White II, and Pilot Roger B. Chaffee, destroying the Module. Here is a signed briefcase by the brave men of the Apollo 1 mission during exercises at the Nevada Test Site: Gus Grissom, Edward White and Roger Chaffee.
