Bobby Jones, 1902-1971, Perhaps the very most famous name in golfing history. He was the most successful amateur golfer ever to compete on a national and international level. From 1923 to 1930, he dominated top level events, competing successfully against the world's best professional golfers. He is most famous for his "grand slam", consisting of victories in all four major golf tournaments of his era: the open and amateur championships in both U.S. and the U.K. in one single year. Here is a vintage magazine page signed by the famous golfer.
