 Product Description

President Franklin Pierce, November 23, 1804 - October 8, 1869, America's 14th President original Nomination Document. It is dated July 10, 1854, appointing John McKeon as New York County District Attorney for the Southern District of New York. McKeon prosecuted a number of very important cases during this time, including the attempt to enlist men to serve in the British Army during the Crimean War and the seizure of the ship "Northern Light", and thus his appointment was a milestone in Pierce's presidency.
