General Adna Chaffee Jr. (September 23, 1884 - August 22, 1941) came from a military family and was recognized as the "Army's finest horseman" and became part of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States. Serving in the infantry in WWI, then Captain of Cavalry, and then assumed command of the 7th Cavalry Brigade in WWII. Fort Chaffee in Arkansas is named in his honor, as well as the M24 Chaffee Light Tank. Here is a hand written envelope giving his address as General Chafee, Brig. Gen. USA, Comman. 7th Cav. Brigade.
