General Matthew Bunker Ridgway (March 3, 1896 - July 26, 1993) United States Army General who held several major commands in the United Nations war effort during the Korean War and is credited for turning the war around. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He had also served in WWII, including the Battle of the Bulge.
