Businessman, pilot, movie director, one of the most financially successful, eccentrically geniuses in the world and the aviation industry. He formed Hughes Aircraft in 1932 and spent the next years setting world air speed records. He created the H-1 Racer, the H-4 Hercules ("Spruce Goose”). Hughes was included in Flying Magazine’s list of the 51 Heroes of Aviation. In 1938, he set a triumph of aviation technology by completing a flight around the world in 91 hours in a Lockheed 14 Super Electra with a four-man crew, for which he received the Congressional Gold Medal.
